David Schwimmer Drops the Mic in Epic Rap Battle with James Corden

James Corden has recently introduced a new segment to The Late Late Show. It’s titled “Drop the Mic,” and sees the host compete against various celebrities in a bid to win an epic rap battle. Previous contender, Anne Hathaway, showered Corden with disses on Tuesday night’s episode, telling the U.K presenter that he looked like a “KFC bucket with a lot of extra breast.” Corden, however, did not appear disheartened by Hathaway’s remarks, as on Thursday night he went head to head with Friends star, David Schwimmer, who proved to be quite the natural performer.

Making fun of Corden’s generic television roles, he rapped: “The heavy best friend, the humorous side-kick, with a belly so big you can’t find your own-.” The actor further teased the talk-show host by proclaiming he “worked with a monkey who had more skills than you.” But it wasn’t only Schwimmer who was knocking insults out of the park. Corden, too, had some things to say in return. Commenting on his opponent’s role in The People v. O.J Simpson, he rapped: “You played Robert [Kardashian], and that was a great combo. But you were so white, you shoulda probably played the Bronco.” And the host didn’t just stop there. He also poked fun at Schwimmer’s role on the famous ’90s sitcom, Friends, and his now has-been status: “Millennial’s, let me introduce you to this guy. His name is David, he was famous in ’95. Cause that’s when he was hot, he was on TV then. Now it’s 2016, and he has no friends.”

And it didn’t end there. Oh no. It wasn’t until special guest star, Rebel “M.C” Wilson, took to the stage that the battle really kicked off. After staring down the opposition, she threw out some killer insults. “David, your career, it’s a huge mistake. It’s like Ross and Rachel, it’s on a break,” she raps to Schwimmer, before turning to Corden and professing, “Carpool Karaoke, you think it’s your big thing. But everyone is thinking, ‘SHUT UP AND LET ADELE SING!’”. Wilson concludes the segment by dropping her mic at the final line: “Don’t battle with me, ’cause you know it’s not worth it. Everybody knows my rhymes are pitch perfect.”

Schwimmer, Corden, Rebel. Who do you think was the rightful winner?
