McCarthy, who plays Jonathon Switcher; a young job-hopper who finds his calling assembling department store mannequins, tweeted his surprise at the anniversary. Fans of the film have since expressed their delight, sharing their favourite scenes and Mannequin memories. Emma Stone shared a heart-warming message tonight as part of her BAFTA speech. The red-haired heroine, who received the prestigious Leading Actress award for her role in La La Land, was overwhelmed by the win, calling it an "unbelievable honour."

Up against a group of talented actresses, including Meryl Streep, Amy Adams, Natalie Portman and Emily Blunt, Eddie Redmayne, who presented the award, praised the nominees for their "extraordinary and varied performances," but it was Stone who walked away with the golden trophy.

Overwhelmed by the privilege, she took great joy in celebrating the occasion with her fellow co-stars and colleagues. "One of the greatest parts about tonight is sitting with all of these incredible people that made this film. We've became such a family," said Stone as she directed her gratitude toward La La Land director, Damien Chazelle, as well as the movie's cast and producers. Special thanks also went to her leading man, Ryan Gosling, who according to Stone "elevates everything he touches."

However, it was her positive message regarding the political turmoil of Britain and America that had the audience applauding. A passionate Stone said: "Right now this country and the U.S, and the world, seems to be going through a bit of a time, just a bit and in a time that is so divisive I think it's really special that we were all able to come together tonight thanks to BAFTA."

Her appreciation of the industry and of films ability to "transcend borders and...help people feel a little less alone," makes her a deserved winner of the distinguished category.

After six weeks of battling it out for the crown, Eastenders actor Jonny Labey and his partner Chrissy Brooke have danced their way to victory, with Lucy-Jo Hudson and Rohan Pinnock-Hamilton placing a close second. The series finale saw both couples go head to head as they recreated some of the most famous pop and movie dances of all time, as well as revisiting some series favourites.

Opening the show with Gene Kelly's iconic dance number, "Singin' in the Rain", Rohan tapped his way into the judges hearts once again. Ashley Banjo commended the number, saying the dance reminded him "so much of the original," and awarding a top score of ten. Jonny, on the other hand, performed Usher's RnB hit, "Caught Up"; a laid-back routine that proved quite the challenge. But after lockin' and poppin' his way through rehearsals, he was soon able to capture the coolness of the choreography. Dutch born dancer, Timor Steffans branded the performance as "really strong," before all three judges gave a full 30 points.

Revisiting their favourite dance of the series and joining forces for the first duo performance of the night, Lucy-Jo and Rohan went back to the 80's to recreate The Blues Brothers legendary dance number, "Shake a Tail Feather." The colourful routine saw the couple grow in confidence and showed the judges how far they had come in the competition. Also revisiting their favourite dance, Jonny and Chrissy dominated the stage with Michael Jackson's extraterrestrial hit, "Scream." Tina Landon praised Chrissy's confidence and the pair again achieved a full score of 30.

The second half of the show saw the two girls go head to head, performing routines from two of the world's biggest pop divas. Soap star Lucy-Jo took to the stage first, recreating Beyonce's fiery single "Run the World (Girls)." The intricate footwork was at first challenging, but rising to the challenge Lucy-Jo proved unstoppable as she racked up her highest solo score of 29.5 and achieved her first ever 10. Chrissy came back fighting, staging Lady Gaga's "Telephone," in an iconic yellow wig and American bandanna. The "rough around the edges" routine left the judges speechless and top scores were awarded across the board.

Dancing together for the last time, Lucy-Jo and her dance partner Rohan took to the stage for an emotional number. Recreating Justin Bieber's "Love Yourself," the duo had to immerse themselves in the intricate and detailed choreography, whilst also portraying the vulnerability of their characters. Tina commended the pair on the emotional quality of their performance, whilst Timor said he was able to "live" the story. The last performance of the night, however, was by the eventual winners, Jonny and Chrissy. The real-life couple fought, literally, for the title as they smashed their way through Pink's passionate hit "Try." Receiving the best reception of the night, the powerful final performance was described by head judge, Ashley, as "raw and visceral." The couple, once again, received top marks, automatically crowning them the Dance Dance Dance 2017 champions.

Each contestant fought hard from day one and improved significantly each week. The show saw competitors battle through pop, rock, and musical numbers, but fan-favourites Jonny and Chrissy proved they had the edge. With the crown going to the deserved winners, we're looking forward to what the next series has in store.

James Corden has recently introduced a new segment to The Late Late Show. It’s titled “Drop the Mic,” and sees the host compete against various celebrities in a bid to win an epic rap battle. Previous contender, Anne Hathaway, showered Corden with disses on Tuesday night’s episode, telling the U.K presenter that he looked like a “KFC bucket with a lot of extra breast.” Corden, however, did not appear disheartened by Hathaway’s remarks, as on Thursday night he went head to head with Friends star, David Schwimmer, who proved to be quite the natural performer.
